Dr. Vijayalakshmi Kakulapati is a Professor at the Sreenidhi Institute of Science and Technology. Her research includes theoretical and practical information retrieval problems, as well as Machine Learning applied to large volumes of data. Her research mainly focuses on Big Data Analytics, Data Science, Retrieval Models, and ranking. She is ever-passionate about applying her knowledge to real-world problems and working with evaluating, designing novel search algorithms for web search, and summarization.

She owns more than 75 publications in national, international journals and conferences. Out of these 25 are Springer Chapters, 8 book chapters in IGI global, springer and Elesiver, 5 ACM, 15 IEEE, and 1 in Elsevier. She is a member of Various technical bodies like IEEE, FIETE, LMCSI, LMISTE, MIAENG, MIACSIT, MCSTA, and MAASCIT.
